FEATURED GUIDE
Hypermobility disorders like hEDS and HSD affect connective tissue, leading to instability, pain, fatigue and sometimes multisystem symptoms.
This guide explains what they are, how they’re diagnosed, and why understanding them can make movement and daily life feel more manageable.
The Gentle Studio Library is a space to explore practical, evidence‑informed ideas to help you understand your body.
These guides blend physiotherapy knowledge & clinical research with lived experience from my life and that of my clients, offering gentle, practical ideas for movement, pacing, pain, fatigue, and everyday challenges.
Some things will resonate with you, others won’t – take what works, and leave the rest. This space will grow slowly and steadily, with new guides added as they’re ready.
If you’d like to hear when new guides are added, why not come and say hi on Instagram or Facebook?
I’m Hollie – a physiotherapist who specialises in treating people with chronic pain, fatigue and hypermobility disorders.
I started writing The Gentle Studio Guides as part of my professional development, wanting to translate the clinical research I read into practical guides for my clients. As I wrote, I realised that this information would probably be helpful to others – those struggling to figure out how to thrive despite pain, fatigue and other complex multisystemic experiences.
These guides are based on research, seminal publications, my own lived experiences, and the experiences my amazing clients share with me, displaying all their resilience, strength and adaptability.
My clinical work focuses on injury rehab, building proprioception, stability & strength as well as helping people understand pain neurology and develop management skills which actually fit in with their lives. If you’d like support which is tailored to you symptoms and goals, I offer online physiotherapy sessions where we explore your symptoms and goals together and build a plan that fits your real life.

If you are ready to get started, you can book your remote initial assessment – a 45 minute session designed to understand your symptoms, your goals, and how we can get there.
